5 days post-blog

Sunday 8th November 2015.

It’s Sunday. You know what that means. Another week has come and gone. I’m having a teeny, tiny, little mini celebration today. I started blogging on Tuesday and I’ve survived until Sunday! Although it’s only been just under a week (five fabulous days since my first post to be exact), I’m pretty proud of myself. I’ve managed to do six posts, pull in 140 views, have 75 visitors and have gained seven fabulous followers on WordPress alone (as of Saturday evening), I’m not going to bore you all with my social media figures – all whilst juggling a home, a very diva like, active 10 month old daughter and being a stay at home mum. It’s progress, no matter how small and I think it’s healthy to acknowledge that my efforts have been noticed. It’s a wonderful feeling too and it’s given me the drive, inspiration and positivity to bring this blog to live.

So back to my post topic. I thought I’d do a fairly common post and just do a quick round up of my weeks highlights and happenings. Most people have a reason to dislike Monday’s but this week my Monday really took the biscuit. After a bit of bad luck our landlord decided that they are no longer able to rent out the property which leaves us in a sticky situation. We have to find a new home by January. With Christmas coming up you can imagine that I wasn’t exactly thrilled about this news, especially with having a small child, and my stress levels went through the roof; but these things happen. Our landlord has been fabulous to us and was ever so apologetic and helpful – I suppose everything happens for reason. Maybe it’s a blessing in disguise. But to change my mood, I took my daughter to our local firework display. I was a little weary about this because I wasn’t sure how she was going to react but little B loved them. If anything she was more concerned about figuring out how to get on the rides behind us. After a long Monday I was ready for bed. So anyway with the week off to an awful start Tuesday didn’t seem like it was going to be much better. It was November 3rd . That date alone makes me slightly emotional. It’s the date my mother passed away back in 2001. But rather than sit and mope around, I thought no more negativity and I started to blog.

My little B can now climb the stairs, she managed to get all the way to the top on her first attempt (with her Daddy stood behind her, I don’t just let my child roam the hallway on her own). She even managed it in 37 seconds! B now knows how to dance. She will move her body to familiar songs (especially One Direction songs) or when you ask her to dance. I also discovered that her favourite fruit is watermelon, and that she will eat a small slice before you can finish reciting the alphabet. Her favourite game at the moment is ‘get mummy or daddy to chase me because I’ve touched the picture frames from the tv unit’.  Little B has also learnt how to say ‘that’ and ‘this’ when asking what something is or when holding/looking at something.

That’s about as exciting as my week got. I’m praying next week brings a little more luck and smiles my way.  I’m blessed to have a fabulous little daughter who makes my bad days bearable. And now I have this amazing blog. So I say thank you to everyone who has taken the time to click on my links, follow me on Twitter, WordPress and Instagram, commented/mentioned/replied/liked my posts. You really have made my first few days of blogging an extremely kind and friendly experience.

Lovely post, hun and welcome to blogging (I’m a newbie too!). That’s so rubbish about having to find another place to rent – the timing is a bit crap with Christmas but at least your landlord has been apologetic. Hopefully you’ll find somewhere you love. B sounds very cute, love the dancing! #marvmondays

  2. Wow! You did well for your first week. I love that you turned the negatives into positives – and this lovely blog. I hope that you find a new place to live easily. And I’m sorry for the loss of your mum, even after this time, that must be difficult. xx

    1. Thank you. Those are truly kind words you’ve left. I hope my house hunting goes smoother than I’m expecting, and thank you for those lovely words regarding my mum. I do like a challenge so maybe that attitude will help me with this blog. How strange for you to comment – I’ve just scheduled a post for tomorrow which you will be tagged in via Twitter! Thanks for reading 🙂

  3. I’m so sorry about your Mum, that must be so so difficult, but lovely that you got to do something nice with little B to take your mind off of it. Can I just say, well done for getting so far with your blog already! For about the first 6 months of my blog, it was only my parents checking in every now & then, and I certainly didn’t get 75 views for a long time! Good work. Thankyou for linking up to Marvellous Mondays, hope to see you again next week! Kaye xo
